First Time Setup

Initial setup must be completed by a user with an administrator login. Some of the options listed in this section may not be needed, depending on the Packsize machines and peripherals used, the packaging layout and process flow, and the network setup.

For best results, follow the steps below in order.

  1. Gather all the system information needed for PackNet setup. At a minimum, this should include:

    • Usernames, passwords, and permission levels (i.e., operator or administrator) for all users.

    • Which Packsize machines are used in the solution.

    • Which z-Fold sizes are installed on each machine, including z-Fold width, flute, and brand.

    • Any other accessories attached to or used with Packsize machines, such as label printers, scanners, foot pedals, or conveyors.

    • Network information for each machine, printer, or scanner.

    • Physical groupings (for machine group setup).

    • Overall packaging layout and process flow (for carton property group, classification, or pick zone setup).

    • Saved Jobs to be imported, when available.

  2. Log in to the system as an administrator.

  3. Enter all the required settings into the software.
