PackNet Online Documentation

Network Requirements

This section will discuss the network requirements customers must meet in order to connect and use PackNet. Customers are responsible for implementing and maintaining their internal network to each device they will be using for their packaging solution.

Each Packsize machine will utilize an IoT device that will be used to communicate to PackNet. This IoT device will require an external and internal network connection in order for the packaging solution function properly. The IoT device in each Packsize machine will be using an IEEE 802.3 (RJ45) Ethernet connection.

Operating System

PackNet is cloud-hosted software that can be viewed on a browser with internet access.

Web Browser

PackNet is optimized for viewing on Chromium-based web browsers.

Connection with Packsize Machines

PackNet is connected to Packsize carton machines through an IoT device. The IoT device is a specialized hardware component that is wired into the machine and runs specialized Packsize software known as IoT modules. Customers need to work with Packsize to make sure connectivity requirements are configured within their network.

PackNet has support for the following Packsize carton creation and closing machines:

Carton Creation Machines

  • EM6

  • EM7

  • iQ Fusion

  • X4

  • X5

  • X6

  • X7

Carton Closing Machines

  • ClosePro X

  • LidPro X

  • SealPro X

Note

The M1 machine is not currently compatible with PackNet Software Platform. This document will be updated with information about M1 cloud support once available.

Ports and Endpoints

Certain network ports and endpoints must be allowlisted in order for the IoT devices to connect to PackNet. To find all the current ports that must be allowlisted, see PackNet Connectivity Requirements [SPEC-00126] .
